Blacksmithing
As an experiential educator, I’ve taught blacksmithing since the early 2000s. I’m not a master. Not by any means. More like a Bob Ross, making happy accidents while guiding young people and adults into the very beginning of new skills and abilities. Over the years I’ve continued the craft in my spare time, as a hobby, contentedly hammering hot steel into creative expression, with little concern for precision or perfection. We spend so much of our limited time existing in virtual realities. I think there’s a essential joy in making tangible things, even if they may be crude and primal.
